

Born on December 22, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, Evelyn later moved to Chattanooga, where she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1953. During her time there, she proudly served as Vice President of her senior class.
Evelyn returned to New York, where she built a meaningful career as a Social Worker with the New York City Department of Social Services, from which she later retired. On May 6, 1961, she married the love of her life, Leroy Talley. In 1974, she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Queens, New York, beginning a lifelong dedication to her faith.
In 1992, Evelyn relocated back to Chattanooga and became a member of the Hamilton Congregation. She was a devoted servant of her faith and faithfully served as a regular Pioneer from 1991 until her passing.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Radden, Sr. and Verna Swafford Radden; her siblings, Betty Roberson and Melvin Radden; and her beloved husband, Leroy Talley.
She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Dewey (Darnetta) Radden of Chattanooga, Tennessee, along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with Brother Robert Davenport officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/ChattanoogaValleyView/
Interment will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
