Frieda Ann Nelson, 62 of Ooltewah, TN, passed away Saturday morning in a local hospital. A lifelong resident of the Ooltewah area, she was the daughter of the late Kester and Edna Wooten Stiner. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany and a sister, Gayle Bible. Survivors include her husband, James “Ricky” Nelson with whom she had celebrated 40 years together this past January; two sons, Mark (Susan) Leamon and Ben (Traci) Nelson; two step-sons, Tony (Joyce) Nelson and Ronnie (Nancy) Nelson; grandchildren, Kirsten (Kevin) Phillips, Jake Leamon, Andrew Smith, Austin Nelson, Patrick Nelson, Rebecca Nelson, Chelsea Nelson, Meagan Fox, Jennifer Nelson, Hillary Nelson and Victoria Nelson; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Crowe officiating. Interment will be at a later date in National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
