Jack Tallant, 82, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away, Sunday, June 22, 2014. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was a member of the Providence Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a retired truck driver. He was the son of the late Ted and Media Walker Tallant and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Tallant and Theodore Tallant and a sister, Tootie Bearden. Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Spain and Vicki Barrett; son Bobby Tallant all of Chattanooga; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence Tallant. A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Tyner Cemetery with the Rev. Rob Borders officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway
