Dr. James C. "Jim" Weatherly

Dr. James C. Weatherly, DVM, 75, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014. A native of Zebulon, GA, he has been a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 43 years where he operated the Lee Parkway Veterinarian Hospital for many years. He was graduate of the University of Georgia with a BS Degree in Agriculture and a Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine. He was a longtime member of Ooltewah-Collegedale Kiwanis Club where he served as Chairman of the Aktion Club for many years. A licensed Veterinarian in Tennessee and Georgia, he was also a member of CVMA; the AVMA. A member of the Brainerd Baptist Church, he was an avid Georgia football fan. Dr. Weatherly was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Weatherly. He is survived by his wife, Connie Weatherly; two sons, Kent (Faith) Weatherly and Craig Weatherly; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Aleena; three sisters, Glenda Moore, Janice Williams and Penny Kearney and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Valley View Chapel with his brother-in-law officiating, Pastor Archie Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ooltewah-Collegedale Kiwanis Club. The family request memorial contributions be made to the Aktion Club of the Ooltewah-Collegedale Kiwanis Club or to Brainerd Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
