She was born in DeKalb County, Alabama and was the owner of Selective Sitting Service in Chattanooga until her retirement.
Katie was a member of Bayside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dona Clayton, five brothers, Herman, Marlon, Hoyt, Ed and Yancy Clayton and sister, Pearl Bowers.
Survivors include her daughter, Wilma (Randall) Smith, of Henagar, AL, granddaughter, Denise (Ricky) Lewis, grandson, Robert (Amy) Smith great grandson, Jared Lewis and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Grady Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Henagar, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
