Mr. Cox was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Louise Calhoun Cox and Leon J. Cox, Sr. He was of the Christian faith and an avid golf fan. He retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 43 and also retired from First Presbyterian Church as maintenance caretaker.
Surviving are his wife Mary E. Cox; only sibling, Franklin L. Cox of Warrenton, GA; 3 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 3 nephews; 4 grand-nephews; 1 grandniece; 3 great-grandnieces; and 1 great-grandnephew.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Monday and from 12 Noon to 1 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 1 PM Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the funeral home with Mr. Danny Farr officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
