Mary A. “Sister” Walker, 86, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was of the Church of God faith and was the daughter of the late Ben and Ella Hickman Oliver and was also the wife of the late Lum Walker. She was also preceded in death by two sons, L. Gene Walker and Larry Walker. Survivors include five daughters, Geraldine Blanks, Harrison, Margie (Paul) Newby, Lookout Valley, Clara Cross and (Ralph O’Kelley), Lucy (William) Russell and Denise (Ronald) Dye all of Chattanooga; two sons, Eddie (Henrietta) Cruse, Rossville, GA and Eric Wells; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Geree Gray, Ooltewah; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga, especially Tammy and Misty for the love and care you gave. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jim Milligan officiating. Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
