

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Whittle Charlesworth, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Nancy passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 2, 2025, at the age of 67.
Born in Hutchinson, Kansas, Nancy was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and Ooltewah, Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Covenant College, where she laid the foundation for her deep commitment to both her career and family.
Nancy dedicated 20 years of her life as an employee of Central Soya and 25 years as a Retail Data Specialist at McKee Foods, where she formed lasting relationships and contributed to the company’s success. She found purpose and fulfillment in her work, always giving her best.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Spencer Charlesworth; her children, Spencer Charlesworth Jr. (Amy) and Callie Childs (Clint); her cherished grandchildren, Cooper Childs, Cora Childs, Colbie Grace Childs, Mateo, and Ruben; her father, Bob McNamee (Diane); her brothers, Bob Whittle, Randy McNamee, Chris McNamee, Greg McNamee, her sister Kim Morris, along with many loved nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Quintard Noble Whittle, and her father, William E. Whittle.
Nancy had a love for the outdoors, finding peace and joy in nature. Whether it was spending time on the beach, the lake, camping, fishing, or simply observing the wildlife, she found beauty in all things. She loved animals deeply, a passion that led her to horseback riding and a fulfilling career as a vet tech in her earlier years. Throughout her life, she owned and cared for many animals, finding joy in their companionship. She was an avid reader and a gifted crafter, often creating treasured keepsakes for her grandchildren, family and friends which will forever remind them of her love and creativity.
A visitation will be held to honor Nancy’s memory on April 9, 2025, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, Valley View, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Nancy’s legacy of love, joy, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
