

Joseph Patrick “Zippy” Richardson 49 of Ooltewah passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Saturday July 24, 2010. Born February 19, 1961, in Memphis, he graduated from Bishop Byrne High School and worked for Federal Express for over 30 years. He was also a graduate of Covenant College. His life was exemplified by his love for his family and friends. All who knew him were assured of his inspiration, motivation, and kindness as he mentored many professionally as well as recreationally coaching his daughters’ sports teams. He was an avid golfer, natural athlete, fan of many sports especially Tennessee Volunteer Football. He will be greatly missed by the family he adored as he leaves behind two beautiful teenage daughters, Alexandria Nicole and Taylor Danielle as well as his devoted wife of 23 years Christine Duffield Richardson.
He is also survived by his parents Rose Mary and Joseph W. Richardson; brother Michael W. Richardson; sister Diana Lynn (Dena) Eubanks; nieces Ashley Warford and Amanda Watkins all of Memphis.
There will be a saying of the Rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by a Catholic Prayer service at 5:00 P.M. conducted by Father James Vick of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church officiating with visitation from 6 until 9 P.M. Friday, July 30, 2010. On Saturday July 31, 2010, visitation will continue at 10:00 A.M. with a Memorial Service to begin at 11:00 A.M. All services will be held at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. There will be no graveside services.
