
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (Ben) Roberts; his two cherished grandchildren, Samuel Roberts and Michael Roberts; his sister, Phronsie “Sissie” McDade; and several nieces and nephews. Ronald took great pride in his family and found his greatest joy in the time spent with them at home, creating lasting memories through simple moments together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Della McDade; his brother, George “Bucky” McDade; and his sister, Sandra “Sandy” McDade.
Ronald honorably served his country in the United States Navy and later continued his commitment through service in the Army Reserves. He also dedicated many years as a correctional officer, a role he genuinely enjoyed and took pride in, valuing the sense of purpose and service it brought to his life. His dedication and sense of duty were a testament to his character and love for his country.
A man who appreciated the comfort of home and the closeness of family, Ronald will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and enduring love for those around him.
The family will receive friends from 4–6 Thursday evening at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 6. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 10:30 on Friday morning.
