Ronald Mercer

He was the son of the late Granville and Yola Mercer and was preceded in death by six siblings, Ernestine Carnes, Dorinda Longley, Clarence Mercer, Terry Mercer, Polly Mercer and Orlanda Mercer.

Ronald was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and retired as an accountant with Hudson Construction Company.

He was a member of Cumberland Shed Presbyterian Church. Ronald was very charitable and supportive of the Salvation Army and Chattanooga Area Fire Fighters.

Survivors include his sister, Joyce Headrick, of Chattanooga, two nieces, Nancy Shannon, of Cleveland, TN, Kaye Carnes Myers, of Townsend, TN, nephew, Don Carnes, Townsend, TN, three great nephews, Richard Carnes, Brad Shannon, Tyler Shannon, great niece, Shayna Holmes, three great-great nieces, Halli Carnes, Kinsi Carnes, Sophi Carnes and two great-great nephews, Braden Carnes and Michael Shannon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Morty Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Shed Cemetery in Ocoee, TN.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
