

She was the daughter of Clara Killian.
She loved cooking, sewing, quilting, books and crafts. She cherished her friends, but most of all she loved her family. Shirley was retired from Chattanooga Funeral Home after more than 16 years of service
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl “Gene” Ownbey, son, Brian E Ownbey, Sr., her precious granddaughter, Rachelle Creamer, sister-in-law, Rebecca McAllister.
Survivors include her daughters, Denise (Bobby) Holder, and Kim (Dee) Posey, grandchildren, Eric (Michal) Gailer, Brian E (Mandy) Ownbey, Jr., great-grandchildren, Aaron (Sarah) Creamer, Chase (Kenaira) Creamer, Hannah Hile, Sam Gailer and Grace Gailer, grandson-in-love, Anthony Creamer. nephews, Perry Earl (Mary Margaret) McAllister and Barry McAllister.
The family will receive friends at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 10-12 Tuesday, September 3. Funeral services will follow at 12 in the chapel with Reverend Perry Earl McAllister officiating.
Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Bobby Holder, Dee Posey, Brian Ownbey, Jr., Eric Gailer, Aaron Creamer, Chase Creamer, Eddie Holder, and Anthony Creamer serving as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice and Viviant Healthcare staff and CNA’s for all the care and compassion that they gave to our loved one.
