He was born in Chattanooga, TN and attended Bradley Central High School. Tommy was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving for 3 years. He was an avid Harley-Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast and was one who loved the outdoors, especially flowers and nature. Tommy was a very creative person, making many items from what nature gave him to work with. Because of his creative ability, he was employed as a Sign Designer in Cleveland, TN. He loved animals, especially his dogs. Tommy devoted his life and time to being a Caregiver to his parents.
He was preceded in death by his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents; father, David Scoggins, Sr.; brothers, James “Jim” Scoggins and David Scoggins, Jr.; nephew, Justin Gilreath.
Survivors include his mother, Loraine B. Scoggins; sister, Brenda (Larry) Gilreath; niece, Julie (Brandon) Turner; nephew, Jason Gilreath; special cousin, Rhonda Queen and several other extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 5~8 PM Friday, August 2, 2024 at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 3, 2024, in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Cy Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Plowman Cemetery.
