Edith "Mita" Garibay

Edith “Mita” Garibay passed away on Friday, December 10th at the age of 62. Born July 21, 1959 to the late Ignacio Jimenez and the late Carmen “Luz” Jimenez. She was a beloved wife of 42 years to her devoted husband, Jose Garibay. Loving mother to son Jose Garibay Jr. (Gladys Perez) and daughter Melissa Garibay (Michael Monroe). Grandmother to Michael Monroe and Janiya Monroe. Sister to Gladys Villegas, Nasario Jimenez (Predeceased), William Jimenez (Predeceased), Elizabeth Sanchez, and Ruben Jimenez. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, great nieces and great nephews.

Edith will be remembered best for the love and devotion she gave as a daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Most of all she will be remembered for her love and devotion as a grandmother. There was not anything she wouldn’t do for her grandchildren.

Visitation for Edith will be on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ridge Funeral Home, (Edward A. Tylka, Manager), 6620 West Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60638. Prayers will be on Friday December 17, 2021 at 9:00 am at Ridge Funeral Home, Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am at St. Rita of Cascia, 6243 S. Fairfield Ave, Chicago, IL 60629.
