Remembering my wonderful Auntie Babe today. I’m sad for me that because of the crazy Covid restrictions that kept her isolated her last year. But she never complained. Always joyful. Her joy was in the Lord, now face to face. I miss her💔

Remembering  Auntie Babe today.  Think of her so often especially when I roll grape leaves or use her Dutch oven.  Loved her dearly. Miss her greatly. 

Agnes....oh sweet Agnes....many must wonder if you were not one of God’s angels on earth! Those of us who were blessed to know you are all richer for it. Kind, giving, humble, and forever thinking of others....you were a light to many and a gift to all.

So many memories . . . a few from before she was married and living at the ranch house but my heart is full of memories from  384 Inkopah! My teen years were difficult and spending time with Auntie Babe was just what I needed to survive. Trips to the beach with kids from the youth group were happy times. In fact, one of my earlier boyfriends was a kid from Otay Baptist. She spent many a late night up watching the Tonight Show with me even though sweet Paul would be up at 5:00! One night we literally ate the entire pan of rice before she could roll the dolma! Food . . . the highlight at the Fennell home. What a gift of hospitality that lady had. Cooked and entertained with such ease. What a welcoming atmosphere she created. Of course music was another important part of her life. Thankful she was able to play the organ at our wedding. I will mss her greatly. Always encouraging me to trust God no matter what! Who will pray for me the way I know she prayed for me and my family. However, I couldn't be happier for her to be in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ, reunited with Uncle Maurie, her parents, sisters and the brothers she never knew in this life. Until that day . . . she's my role model for Godly living. 

We were still newlyweds when we first met Agnes and Maurice in the summer of 1982.  They reached out to us as we were coming on board at the Chula Vista EVFree Church (Paseo del Rey) as youth director.  As you all know, they reached out to us in love, kindness, and generosity.  We remember Agnes making her delicious food, especially the  stuffed grape leaves.   Later on, as our family grew, we had opportunity to visit the Fennells  during our home assignments, and they always had age appropriate toys for the kids to play with.  Qualities such as faithfulness, love, grace, peacefulness, and encouragement come to mind when I think of Agnes.

Agnes was a wonderful friend to my mother Sarah Blomgren and I will be forever grateful for her loving kindness shown  to my mom.
