

Almedia Marie Williams, née Hatcher, left this world for the Great Beyond, to be with her loving husband, Harold (Hal) Lloyd Williams, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 4:30 PM on February 22, 2023, at her home in Mira Mesa, San Diego, California, surrounded by her family. Hal affectionately called her Pidge but everyone knew her as Nana. Nana was born March 12, 1926, in Pensacola, Florida, to Herbert McCann Hatcher, of Knox County, Tennessee, and Eunice Leona Fernandez, of Pensacola, Florida. Her father was a Pensacola Policeman and is credited with starting the “School Boy Patrol” in Florida, which is now known throughout the nation as student guards controlling traffic around schools. She was a World War II war bride and married Hal in Pensacola, Florida, on September 10, 1943.
Nana was a sweet woman and was loved by everyone. She was a member of Christ the Conerstone Lutheran Church of Mira Mesa. Her husband was a career Navy man and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer. While Hal was in the Navy, they traveled with their two boys to such places as: Pensacola, Florida; Norfolk, Virginia; Great Lakes, Illinois; Okinawa, Japan; Naval Air Station Moffett Field, Sunnyvale, California; Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, and finally retiring at Naval Air Station Miramar, San Diego, California.
Nana leaves to mourn her loss, her son Robert (Bob) Thomas Williams and wife Sheryle and son Jack Lloyd Williams and wife Martha. Granddaughter Cynthia René Baker and husband Barry (Fresno, California), grandson Edward (Eddie) Troy Williams and wife Liezl (Fresno, California) and granddaughter Kathryn Suzanne Buchans (Litchfield Park, Arizona). She leaves great-grandchildren Joshua Baker, Katie Beth Baker-Pauls, Lindsey Baker-Pauls, Alexis Baker, Christian Arricivita Williams, Michael Buchans and Emily Buchans. Great great-grandchildren Arora, Ian, and Charlotte. She also leaves step grandchildren Patrice and husband Stuart McAlpine, and, Amanda and husband Jerah Smith and her children Ayleh, Anyah, Lucas and Ireland. She also leaves her Aunt Betty Haynes who celebrated her 100th birthday on February 26, 2023, in Orlando, Florida, her long time best friends of over sixty years, Mike and Pat Muffley of Las Vegas, Nevada, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nana will be cremated and inured next to her husband at Miramar National Cemetery, on April 7, 2023, at 2:00 P.M.
