Benjamin served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy. He specialized as a Yard Captain-Craftmaster and attained the rank of E-8. He retired in San Diego and decided to make this his home. In retirement, Benjamin became somewhat of a business entrepreneur. Known as a self-starter and highly motivated person, he kept busy with his business ventures. For relaxation, Benjamin enjoyed dirt-bike riding in San Felipe with his son Robert. His family will remember Benjamin for his fun sense of humor and love of life.
He is survived by his son, Robert Blake Cheeseboro of San Diego.
A celebration of life service and visitation will held on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910. On Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. he will be interned at Miramar National Cemetery with full military honors.
