In 1970 they moved out of the city to Ramona. Chuck worked his 20 acres, “Pains ‘n Acres”, for 45 years. He and his wife planted and maintained many pine trees on the property and knew the names of every flower, bush and tree. Chuck was a charter member of the Palomar Sportsman’s Club, an avid “peak bagger”, and extensive explorer of San Diego County’s back country.
