Daniel Robert Mason

Daniel Robert Mason, 72 years old, of National City, passed away on January 14, 2017. He was born in San Diego, California on February 12, 1944. He graduated San Diego High School and was proud to be a "native San Diegan".

On February 3, 1968 he married the love of his life, Vivian Villegas Mason. They were blessed with a long marriage, one month shy of 49 years, and two lovely daughters. Danny had a long career of 33 years working in transportation. Upon his retirement, Danny found more time to pursue his favorite pastimes like hunting for treasures at yard sales and hosting bar-b-ques. He also spent time working in his yard and tinkering in his garage. He enjoyed helping the neighbors with their projects as well. All who knew Danny benefited from friendly and helpful nature. His joking and fun-loving ways attracted many friends, old and new alike. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Danny is survived by his wife, Vivian and his daughters; Lisa and Krista. His legacy includes three grandchildren; Marisa, Michael and Daniel. One great-grandchild, Avery Justine. In addition, his surviving siblings include Jack, Rolando, Beto, Raul, Margot and Gloria.

A celebration of his life and visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910, on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 9:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m.
