

Born in St. Louis, MO Donald G.Bailey Jr. was the oldest of 8 children. He graduated from James Campbell high school in Hawaii where he won medals in swim team Competitions and he was also a lifeguard. He enlisted in the navy after graduation in 1967. He was a crypto tech, then transferred, after going to Vietnam war, to electronic repair. While stationed at Team Field in Imperial Beach in 1974 he met his soul mate, Debra Lynn Harp, when he asked her to dance at the en club and have been together ever since. After leaving the navy he started as a temporary establishing for the Naval Supply Center. He worked his way up to receiving Foreman for the 11th Naval district. He received awards and letters some from Washington DC. He was credited in helping raise the supply support for the fleet from the bottom to the top 2 in the US. His way was for the support of our military after having experienced the importance of supplies to our service personal. He always gave his best and made sure it was done right. He stepped on a few toes but it got done right and once saved a submarine from receiving a damaged part because he refused to except it 3 times. Finally it was removed later to find out the seals in iiT were bad. That was him. He stood by what was right no short cut, no easy way, only what was right. He was assigned to run the hazmat division at 32nd at naval station. He cleaned up the cylinder yard there and on north island. After retiring he worked in Martinez at an oil refinery. He enjoyed working but his health caused him to resign from there. He was always into weigh lifting and walking and that gave him the strength to recover so many times. Moving to the high desert he saw kittens that people dumped out there struggling to survive so he cared for a feral colony and we adopted 2. His last job was for One Touch Support. It was also in support of logistics and material supply. He was known by his size his beard and long braid. He rode his Harley rain or shine. Besides Harleys he loved his camero his first car 1970 & 1/2 limited edition z28. His last one 2001 z28 six speed Hurst short shift. Loved fast and loud bikes and cars. He was always encouraging and supportive and loved to buy gifts for no reason other than love. He would ride up on his bike open his jacket and pull out a bouquet of roses just because. He fought a good fight proving doctors wrong. He is loved and missed by his soul mate of 40 years Debi, DAUGHTER Tanya (Mark) Shell , SON Jeremy (Karyn) Bailey. 3 GRANDDAUGHTERS Breanna , Makenna and Aryka. His sisters Barbara (Jim) Van norsturand, Diana Bailey, Carol Bailey, BROTHERS James Bailey, Keith Bailey, and Robert (Lorie) Bailey. Many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents Jeannette and Donald Bailey brother Bryan Bailey and adopted daughter Suki Bailey. I love that you took care of your mom when she had cancer and helped me care for my mom. You are a wonderful man. I'm so lost without my other half. I love you babe. I will always be your ma hony. Your big caring heart will be missed by everyone who knew who you really are.
