

Emeterio was born in Alos Alaminos Pangasinan in the Philippines on April 23, 1924. He was enlisted in the US Navy where he worked as a steward. On February 15, 1950 he married Lydia Aquino, his wife of 46 years. In the 26 years of service with the Navy, he rose to the rank of E7 Chief Petty Officer and his tours of duty included the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retirement of the US Navy, he worked at the US Post Office for 16 years. During that time, he was involved in the Filipino community and was President of the Alos Association of America.
Emeterio is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia. He is survived by his 5 children – Gerardo Patacsil, Daniel Patacsil, Reynitto Patacsil, Emeterio Patacsil Jr, and Jeanne Swartchick; 11 grandchildren – Dominic Patacsil, Genna Dahlberg, Genelle Patacsil, Gabrielle Patacsil, David Patacsil, Robinson Swartchick, Brittnie Swartchick, Chelsea Swartchick, Justin Patacsil, Michael Patacsil, and Alexis Patacsil; 3 great grandchildren – Maya Dahlberg, Sela Dahlberg, and Bernadette Patacsil.
The family wishes to extend their most sincere thanks to Emeterio’s 2nd family at Paradise Valley Manor in National City. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center and Vibra Hospital of San Diego.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be performed at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1120 Cuyamaca St., Chula Vista, CA, 91915 at 10:00 am.
Graveside and Military Honors under the direction of The United States Navy will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Dr., San Diego CA. 92102.
