Evelyn Cox Hutchens

Evelyn Cox Hutchens, 83, was born December 20, 1942, in Manila, Philippines, and passed away on March 30, 2026. She resided in Chula Vista, California. Evelyn will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection as a beloved presence whose steady devotion to those she loved shaped the life around her.

In her early years, Evelyn pursued her education with determination and earned a diploma from Rizal Central College—an accomplishment that reflected the diligence and purpose that would continue to guide her throughout life.

Evelyn was hard-working and dependable, bringing care and commitment to her work in customer service for the Navy Exchange and Kmart. Through years of service, she carried herself with quiet pride and a strong sense of responsibility.

Above all, Evelyn was devoted to her family. She is survived by her daughter Melanie V. Hutchens, son in law Cesar Cortez, and granddaughter Celanie L. Cortez. Her love for them was constant and unwavering, and her family remained at the heart of what mattered most to her.

Evelyn also found joy in the simple, meaningful pleasures of life—she loved to shop, to travel, and most especially to be with her family. Those who knew her will remember the warmth of her presence and the steadfast care she gave so freely.

A Funeral Service will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910, US, on April 27, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

A Committal Service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery, Lane # 2, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA 92122, US, on April 27, 2026, from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm.
