

Florence (Mickey) Pauline Mikalauskas, of Pine Valley, passed away on May 22, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 14, 1926 and was married to Francis (Mike) Mikalauskas on August 26, 1950.
Mickey received a degree in nursing and worked as an RN at a hospital in Washington DC while Mike finished his education at George Washington University. They moved to Spring Valley and began their life together. After raising children she continued her nursing career in San Diego.
Many years ago she had been an active member of M.A.D.D (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and had served as a speaker at local high schools and public events.
She had a passion for creative writing, getting lost in a good book, cooking and spending time with her loving family. She also enjoyed her many trips to the United Kingdom.
She was preceded in death by her son Michael Mikalauskas and was survived by
her husband Mike Mikalauskas; daughter, Joan Mikalauskas (Birdwell); son-in-law, Steve Birdwell; granddaughters, Heather Birdwell and Leah Lowery (Birdwell) along with Leah’s husband Matt Lowery; great-granddaughter, Victoria Carrico and great-grandson Castin Lowery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, June 17, 2017, at the Pine Valley Community Clubhouse, 28890 Old Highway 80, Pine Valley, CA 91962
