

Gail Annette Neal was born on May 29, 1920 in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania to Richard Earl Nesbitt and Jessie Kramer, and passed away in San Diego, California on March 1, 2015 at age 94. After finishing high school at Eramus Hall in Brooklyn she graduated from Pratt Institute and became a school teacher. There she met Richard B. ("Dick") Neal and married in August of 1944. Their son, Richard Forrest (Rich) Neal, was born in 1946 and subsequently they moved to Palo Alto, CA where Dick completed his Ph.D. in Physics at Stanford University. Their daughter Martha ("Marti") Neal was born in 1949; Dick remained on the staff at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center as a Director and Founder until 1985, when they moved to Solana Beach, Ca to enjoy their retirement in San Diego's temperate climate. Dick passed away in 2012 and her daughter remains in Solana Beach and her son in Santa Cruz, CA. Gail was vivacious and loved to dance and laugh. She will be remembered for her sweetness, sparkling blue eyes, sunny disposition, beautiful smile and congenial, gregarious nature. Her family misses her greatly and she will remain in our memories forever.
