

Upon his high school graduation he joined the United States Navy. He proudly served his country for 24 years as a aircraft mechanic. When retirement came, he started a second career when he became a Merchant Marine Storekeeper. His extensive travels took him around he world for another 23 years.
When he was not aboard ship, Harrison loved to be around his circle of close friends whom he considered family. He enjoyed good times at casinos, playing bingo and keeping his mind sharp by doing crossword puzzles. Harrison will be remembered for his kind and caring nature. He was always ready to help a friend in need. He endearing smile and kindness will live on in the hearts of the many lives he touched.
Harrison is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Joy Hunter, his grandson Nathaniel Lance Hunter and his dear life-long friend Elsie Jenkins. In addition, survivors include his brother, James Louis Hunter, his Godchildren; Michelle Lindsay and Mellisa Jenkins.
A visitation and celebration of life service is being held on Saturday, July 1, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, Serenity Chapel. Military Honors will be performed under the auspices of The United States Navy.
