August 18, 1918 - May 7, 2012
A lifetime resident of Chula Vista, “Izzy” lived her life the way she wanted and passed away peacefully on her terms. She was the youngest of Walter and Ola Ladroot’s four children, all born in the same house on Fourth Avenue (then Second Avenue) where Scripps Chula Vista now stands. She graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1937 and after schooling worked as a beautician during World War II. She met Jack Turner, a Navy Pilot, and married him in 1945. They had three children: Debbie, Jack, and Steve. She later worked at Rohr Industries and retired from there in 1984.
“Iz” was mom to everyone, and was always there for all of us with her strength and pearls of wisdom. For the many people whose lives she touched, there is not enough room on paper to describe how much she meant to us, or how much she will be missed. She loved her family, her friends and her animals.
She leaves her family, Debbie and Randall Allen, Jack Turner, Steve Turner, her grandchildren, Randy and Douglas Allen, Jennifer Allen Olschlager, her great nephew, Travis Fuqua, her niece Carole Broski, and her many friends.
Please join the family at Glen Abbey on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM for services at block 69. Look for the red, white, and blue balloons.
The family wishes to invite her friends to a celebration of her life at the Turner home immediately following the graveside services, where we will toast her with “Martoonies, R&C’s and calypso music”.
