Maria R Mancilla

Maria R. Mancilla, 88, of Chula Vista, California passed away June 11, 2020 of natural causes. She was born in Jonacatepec, Morelos, Mexico on July 5, 1931. Maria was born a frail fraternal twin, and infused with a strong spirit and love of life, she beat the odds and survived. She was the only daughter in a family of five siblings, and was raised lovingly by her parents Guadalupe and Felix. On May 7, 1945, Maria married Oscar Mancilla, a young and dashing man who shared her commitment to marriage, family and hard work. They were married 58 years. In their youth, they pioneered throughout Mexico and immigrated to the United States in 1962, and seeking their family’s well-being, started a furniture business – A&B Furniture – in San Diego. Maria was witty, engaging and exceled at sales, but perhaps her greatest passion in life was her family. Maria and Oscar raised a family of twelve children and she was a firm follower of the Lord, following the example of Mary, who placed herself at God’s will. She prayed daily for her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren, showering them with blessings for health and happiness.

Maria loved family reunions, traveling, dining out and wearing tasteful, elegant dresses and suits. Maria was preceded in death by her husband Oscar, and sons Alex and Herman. Maria is survived by her ten children – Hector Mancilla, Elvia M. Duran, Antonio Mancilla, Carmen Parra, Silvia Ortiz, Robert Mancilla, Arthur Mancilla, George Mancilla, Felix “Bill” Mancilla, and Adriana Mancilla, 43 grandchildren, and countless great grandchildren.

Tribute Processional will be held on June 28, 2020 at 9:00 am at Funeraria del Angel Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA, Viewing and Rosary will be held on June 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm, and Celebration of Life will be held on June 29, 2020 at 11:00 am at Funeraria del Angel Chula Vista.

Maria will be laid to her Eternal Rest on June 29, 2020 at 12:30 pm at Glen Abbey, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita CA

Maria R. Mancilla, 88 años de edad, de Chula Vista California, falleció el 11 de Junio, 2020 de causas naturales. Maria nació en Jonacatepec, Morelos, México el 5 de Julio de 1931. María nacio con un gemelo fraterno, ambos de salud delicada, pero ella, infundida con un espíritu fuerte y amor a la vida, sobrevivió su infancia. Fue hija única entre cuatro hermanos, criada con mucho amor por sus padres Guadalupe y Félix. El 7 de Mayo, 1945, María contrajo matrimonio con Oscar Mancilla. Por 58 años, ambos forjaron un matrimonio duradero y ejemplar, criando su familia y trabajando arduamente para el bien estar de su famila. En su juventud, vivieron en varios estados de México y emigraron a los Estados Unidos en 1962. Maria y Oscar empezaron un negocio de muebles en San Diego, y ella- con una personalidad encantadora yamable – era la principal vendedora de muebles. En realidad, su más grande pasión en su vida fue su familia. María y Oscar tuvieron 12 hijos y ella, una firme creyente del Nuestro Señor Jesucristo y siguiendo el ejemplo de María, la Madre de Cristo, se puso a la disposición de Dios. Maria rezaba diariamente por sus hijos, sus esposos/as, sus nietos y sus bisnietos, colmandolos de bendiciones para que gozaran siempre de completa salud y felicidad. María amaba las reuniones familiares, viajar, comer en restaurant, y vestidos elegantes y de buen sastre.

María fue predecida en muerte por su esposo Oscar, y sus hijos Alejandro y Germán. Sobrevivientes de Maria incluyen sus hijos Héctor Mancilla , Elvia M. Durán, Antonio Mancilla, Carmen Parra, Silvia Ortiz, Roberto Mancilla, Arturo Mancilla, Jorge Mancilla, Félix “Bill” Mancilla y Adriana Mancilla, 43 nietos y un sinnúmero de bisnietos
