She was married to Edward J. Ruiz on September 3, 1955. Ofelia was a wonderful housewife the majority of her life. She loved to sing. She sang in various church choirs throughout Chula Vista and San Diego.
She is survived by sons Edward Ruiz and Hector Ruiz,daughter Magdalena Shay, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
A visitation for Ofelia will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM at Church of the Most Precious Blood, 1245 Fourth Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91910. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, June 1, 2022 11:30 AM at La Vista Memorial Park, 3191 Orange St., National City, CA 91950.
