

Born May 15, 1968, in Calexico, California, he moved to San Diego, California, with his mother and brother in 1973. He graduated from Montgomery High School in 1985 and attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. for one year. He enlisted in the Army in 1992 as a Network Switching Systems Operator, and was Honorably Discharged in 1997. For the next several years, Ramón lived in Los Angeles and continued to work in telecommunications. In 2001, he returned to San Diego and furthered his education at San Diego State University. For the last five years, Ramón was employed by Telcordia/Ericsson as a Senior Engineer Deployment Specialist.
In his short life he traveled extensively, personally and professionally, always interested in the cultures and languages of the places he visited. He was an avid seeker of knowledge in all areas. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nephews and nieces, and his fiancée and her children and grandchild.
He will be remembered as a devout Christian, extremely intelligent, funny with a great sense of humor, joyful, loving, kind, generous, thoughtful, caring and inquisitive.
He is survived by his mother and father, Rosemary Rubio Laughlin and Robert Laughlin; his fiancée, Natalie Gonzales; his step-children, Armando Burrell, Dominique Burrell, Monique Burrell and David Aguilar; his granddaughter Aubrey Burrell; his brothers and sister Carlos Angeles, Mary Borunda and Jonathan Laughlin; his nephews and nieces, Collin, Donna, and Jenna Angeles; Santiago, Estela and Gregory Borunda; and Alexander Robert Laughlin; Aunts and Uncles, and many Cousins.
A viewing will be held from 5-9 pm, Monday, April 1, 2013, at Del Angel Humphrey Morturary, 753 Broadway Chula Vista, CA 91910, 619-425-9111. A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Calvary Chapel San Diego, 1771 E. Palomar St Chula Vista, CA 91913, 619-421-1100, with a Reception immediately following at Swiss Park, 2001 Main St Chula Vista, CA 91911, 619-423-1036. Friends and relatives are welcomed to attend all events.
