Mass will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 11 am at St John of the Cross, 8086 Broadway, Lemon Grove, CA, 91945 following, Richard will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Dr., San Diego, CA.

Richard Maciel Rico, 72, of Lemon Grove, California, passed away March 11, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Salinas, California on February 28, 1951. Richard graduated from Sweetwater High School in National City, and attended San Bernadino Valley College. He was married to Dolores Camila Rico on November 13, 1994 in Lemon Grove, CA. Richard had a fruitful career at General Dynamics, and later retired from Lockheed Martin as a Quality Control Specialist. Richard served in the U.S. Army and received numerous accolades including the National Defense Service Medal, and an Expert Badge of an M-14. He was a member of St John of the Cross Catholic Church, and had a passion for his family, baseball, WWE, football, and living life to the fullest. He is predeceased by his parents Alfonso Rico, Baudelina Maciel, and his siblings Henry Rico, Yolanda Rico Chinn. He is survived by his wife Dolores Camila Rico, his children Angela Rico, Cynthia Rico, Ines Mangual-Cabassa, and Alejandro Mangual; his grandchildren Melinda, Karina, Anita, Amanda, Alexis, Mariah, Sol, Mili, Ceiba, and Santos; also his great-grandchildren Avalina Grace, Elijah Manuel, and Sophia Ayeli. Funeral Arrangements will be held at 11 am, Wednesday March 22, 2023 at St John of the Cross.
