Teresa Mama Tere Camarena

At the turn of the 19th century Jose Venegas Ochoa and Maria Rodriguez Gomez were joined in holy matrimony and raised 5 children. Among them was Teresa Venegas Rodriguez was born in Jalisco, Mexico on August 26th, 1925.Teresa was married to Mexican soldier Luis Castro, whom she met sometime before in Tecate, Baja California.

In May of 1941 Teresa gave birth to her best friend and her first of 10 children, Monica Castro. The children that followed are, Angel, Meliton (Meli),Maria Ignacia, Jose Luis (Peace),Arturo, Rosalio (Leo), Maria Rosario (Mari), Maria Teresa (Tere) and the youngest Juan Venegas (Johnny).Things were not always easy for Teresa. Her husband at one point moved to the United States for a long period of time to find work and provide for his family. However, with Teresa's faith in God and with the help of all her children Teresa managed well.

Teresa was always a very spiritual and devoted catholic. Every night at bedtime, Teresa and her children would say a rosary prayer. She always attended church regularly and was extensively involved in church activities. She was well known among parishioners. Her three youngest daughter's names serve as proof of Teresa's devotion to her faith; all three were named after the Virgin Mary in gratefulness for having been birthed healthy.

Teresa was not only blessed with 10 children of her own, but with dozens upon dozens of grand-children, nieces, nephews and great-grand-children and great-nieces and great-nephews; all of whom she loved equally and in abundance. Teresa spent time with all these children. She loved to travel and many of her children got to tag along on her adventures. Whether it was a trip to Mexico, or a trip down the street to the park, there was never a dull moment with Teresa.

She was an outgoing, generous, adventurous, spontaneous brave and strong hard working woman. Sometimes it was even difficult to keep up with her but always fun. Teresa was the kind of woman you could count on and always had an open heart. She always found the positive in every negative situation. She always taught the people around her, that a close relationship to God is an important factor to leading a good life.

Teresa is survived by 4 siblings (Socorro,Aurelio,Rosario and Juventino.),4 daughters,6 sons,28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

A la vuelta del siglo 19 José Venegas Ochoa y María Rodríguez Gómez se unieron en sagrado matrimonio y criaron cinco hijos e hijas. Entre ellos estaba Teresa Rodriguez Venegas quien nació en Jalisco, México el 26 de agosto, 1925.Teresa fue casada con el soldado mexicano Luis Castro, a quien conoció en algún momento antes en Tecate, Baja California.

En mayo de 1941, Teresa dio a luz a su mejor amiga y la primera de sus 10 hijos, Mónica Castro. Los niños que se siguen son, Angel, Melitón (Meli), María Ignacia, José Luis (Peace), Arturo, Rosalío (Leo), Maria Rosario (Mari), María Teresa (Tere) y el menor Juan Venegas (Johnny). Cosas no siempre fueron fácil para Teresa. Su marido en un momento dado se trasladó a los Estados Unidos por un largo período de tiempo para encontrar trabajo y mantener a su familia. Sin embargo, con la fe de Teresa en Dios y con la ayuda de todos sus hijos Teresa sobresalió.

Teresa siempre fue una persona muy espiritual y una devota católica. Todas las noches antes de acostarse, Teresa y sus hijos rezaban el rosario. Siempre asistía a la iglesia regularmente, y participó ampliamente en las actividades de la iglesia. Ella era bien conocida entre los feligreses. Teresa nombro a sus tres hijas menores en honor de la Virgen María en agradecimiento por ver nacido saludable.

Teresa no sólo fue bendecida con 10 hijos e hijas, fue bendecida con decenas y decenas de nietos, sobrinas, sobrinos y bisnietos, a quienes todos los amaba por igual y en abundancia. Teresa compartió su vida con todos estos niños. Le encantaba viajar y muchos la acompañaron en sus aventuras. Fuera un viaje a México, o un viaje al parque, nunca hubo un momento aburrido con Teresa.

Teresa fue una mujer, generoso, aventurera, espontánea, valiente fuerte y trabajadora. A veces era incluso difícil mantenerse al día con ella, pero siempre divertido. Teresa era la clase de mujer con quien uno podía contar .Era amorosa y atenta hacia su familia. Ella siempre encontraba lo positivo de cada situación negativa. Ella siempre le enseñó a la gente a su alrededor, que una estrecha relación con Dios es un factor importante para llevar una buena vida.

A Teresa le sobreviven cuatro hermanos (Socorro, Aurelio, Rosario y Juventino.), 4 hijas, 6 hijos, 28 nietos y 20 bisnietos.
