

Venerando Santos Pangan Sr., 78 years old, of National City, California, passed away on October 17, 2014. He was born in Apalit, Pampanga, Philippines on November 14, 1935. High School graduate. On June 22, 1955, he married the love of his life, Dolores Duran Pangan. They were blessed with seven children, three daughters and four sons.
Venerando worked as an Environmental Specialist at Kaiser Permanente Hospital. In his free time, Venerando loved spending it with his grown children and twelve grandchildren. His passion in life was to cook up some of his traditional Filipino dishes and invite his family and friends over to enjoy the food and comradery. Venerando also enjoyed all the local casinos, trying his luck at the slot machines. In his youth, Venerando was a member of the Merchant Marines and traveled the world while working as a chief cook.
Venerando is survived by his wife Dolores, his children, Cristina Pangan Rafael (and husband, Rodolfo), Rosalina Pangan Tiglao, Jaime Pangan (and wife Evangeline) Josephine Pangan Calleja, Venerando Pangan Jr., Redentor Pangan ( and wife Flodilda) and Derek Pangan. His legacy includes 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four brothers, and four sisters. He will be greatly missed by all but his unconditional love will live in the hearts of all who knew him.
A viewing and prayer service will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California, 91910 on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
