Vicenta Roa Lutrinia , 79 years old, born on July 19, 1935 in Antequera, Bohol, Philippines. She died on December 3, 2014 at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center.
Vicenta Roa Lutrinia was born in the southern island of Bohol in the Philippines on July 19, 1935 and by twist of faith, tragically lost her mother at child birth. She grew up and finished primary and secondary schools in the town of Antequera in Bohol province. At 17 years old and have just graduated high school, she left her hometown for greener pasture and found a job in Manila. At 21 years old, she moved to Baguio City in the northern island of Luzon and worked at a cooperative store where she met Ernesto Lutrinia who was working in the Maintenance Department of Binga Hydro-Electric Power Plant. The two hit it off and made beautiful music together and two years later on September 7, 1958, they tied the knot at a ceremony held at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Baguio City. Dreaming of a happy family, 3 children would be born in yearly succession starting in March 28, 1959 with the birth of their first born Glorioso nicknamed "Nonoy", followed by the birth of Yolanda who is fondly called "Inday" on April 27, 1960. The youngest of the brood Josephine was born on May 1, 1961 and being the youngest was nicknamed "Baybee." The family settled in the community of Binga in the province of Itogon at the outskirts of Baguio City. Vicenta and Ernesto would spend the next 35 years in the Philippines until they migrated to the United States in December 1995 to permanently join their daughter Josephine, son-in-law Gil and granddaughter Anne Marie who lives in Chula Vista, California.
Vicenta was predeceased by her parents Matias Roa and Casiana Davalos. She is survived by her husband Ernesto Lasala Lutrinia who is living with their youngest daughter Josephine in Chula Vista, California. She is also survived by her daughter Josephine, son-in-law Gil Enriquez and granddaughter Anne Marie Enriquez. The remaining surviving family members include her son Glorioso, daughter-in-law Gloria Zuniga-Lutrinia and their children Glorinikko, Joanne and Marian Claire in Dasmarinas, Cavite, Philippines. She is also survived by her daughter Yolanda Lutrinia-Caparas and son-in-law Florencio, granddaughter Flor Christian Caparas-Rillera, husband Brian Rillera and great-granddaughters Yayi and Keen Rillera. Vicenta is also survived by granddaughter Clarisse Caparas-Sagun, husband Ian Sagun and great-granddaughters Zaila and Cassey Sagun, all residing in Baguio City, Philippines.
Viewing and Memorial Service will be at Funeraria Del Angel Humprey on Friday - December 12, 2014 on Broadway Street in Chula Vista. It starts at 5:00 pm and will include a Prayer Vigil and blessing of the deceased at 5:30 pm to be officiated by Fr. Bernard Ranoa, and immediately followed by the recitation of the Rosary by the Fil-Am Charitable Organization of San Diego, Inc and the Crazy Corporation. Eulogy, personal sharing and liturgical and inspirational music will be provided by Anne Marie Enriquez, Jun Liwanag, Alessja Morales, Micaela Marquez and Jessica Duhay.
