It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our brother Ardin. He passed away on October 29th at 9:00 pm after a courageous battle with cancer. Ardin was given two weeks to a month to live and lived for one month and 2 days.. He is proceeded in death by his mother Lucretia Saint Jacques, step mother Maxine and father Glen Westfall. He leaves behind two brothers Perry Westfall who resides in Texas, Jim Westfall and Sister Sue Moulton whom he was very much a part of their lives and Joshua Westfall from Washington.
Ardin was not married but had the love of his life, Doris. They spent seven years together and were very much in love. Sadly Ardin never had any children of his own.
Ardin was known for just being a great guy with a huge heart and love for others. It wasn't about what you had or how much money you had, he loved you anyway.
Ardin served in the US Army and then joined the US National Guard, he had just retired a month prior to his death. He completed tours in Germany, South Korea and Operation Desert Storm - Afghanistan. On Memorial and Labor Day he would go to support those who had also served in the military. He was given full Military Honors at the local Sylvan Cemetery. He was also a member of ECV and a lifetime member of the Veterans Of Foreign Wars.
Ardin was the proud owner of Ramco Transmission. He and our mom had went into the business together and when she passed away seven years ago he continued with it. Ardin was devastated, as were we all when our mom passed away. He missed her so much and never quite got over her death.
Ardin loved his very large annual vegetable garden, fishing, playing pool, swimming in his pool, water skiing and spending time on his boat. He spent many hours playing pool with his friends and family. He was an avid San Francisco Giants fan and it was always fun to watch the games with him at his house. His sister's grandchildren Morgie, Zoe, & Payton really loved their "Uncle Ardin". When they would visit he would make them milkshakes, if he didn't have ice cream on hand he would sneak away to the store and get some, they will cherish these memories of him for years to come.
We especially want to thank the Honor Guard who were assigned to the task of Honoring our brother. Also Hospice worker April Dobbs who came and prayed over and for Ardin at his service. She prayed several times with him over the course of his illness and said she totally believed that he was at peace in knowing that he was going to heaven, this was very important to us as believers in God.
We invite you to share your stories from your heart on this site. The pain of his passing is so great and maybe we can all get a little peace from reading all of them. I will be having a celebration for him when his Military Marker is placed at his grave site and will let everyone know the date through this site.
Continue to keep our family and all those close to him in your prayers as we are going through this chapter in our lives. God is good and through his Mercy and Grace we will be given the strength to move on.
Rest in peace, we love and miss you.
Jim, Sue, and Perry, and Doris
