David John Van Egdon of Citrus Heights, California passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the age of 74.
David was an avid automotive enthusiast who as a young teen found a passion for working on cars. He loved watching NASCAR, baseball and football, and enjoyed spending time with his family and doted on his grandchildren. He enjoyed camping and fishing and was always ready to share a story. He was soft-spoken but left a lasting impression on those around him.
David is survived by his loving wife Karen Van Egdon of Citrus Heights, daughter Lisa (Scott) Dean of Acampo, son Jason (Mindy) Van Egdon of Rio Linda and stepson Greg Dean (Meagan Hatfield) of Citrus Heights; his grandchildren Nicholas Friend, Makayla Friend, Alexis Friend, Payton Dean, Noah Dean and Logan Van Egdon; his sisters Arlene Zanghi of Lake Havasu, Arizona and Rosemary Murphy of Simi Valley, California; and many nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his parents Gerrit and Marcelle Van Egdon, his brother Gregory Van Egdon and his sister Bernice Ledesma.
He was deeply loved by his wife and family. He was a wonderful dad, grandpa and papa and will be missed by all.
