Emilie Ann Mann

Emilie Ann Mann (Cathcart), a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, departed to heaven on a restful journey surrounded by her family on March 18, 2022.

Emilie was born in Diamond, IN to Emil and Edith Mann, on January 5, 1937. Emilie attended schools in Greencastle and graduated from Greencastle High School in 1953. She received a scholarship to attend Indiana State University. After graduation, she was hired by California State University to teach at Berkley where she relocated and finish her advanced degrees. She went on to teach elementary school as a reading and special ed teacher in addition to grade school at the Rio Linda/Twin Rivers School district for the majority of her carrier. Emilie had a very successful and gratifying carrier of over 40 years as an educator doing what she loved. In 1983 she was nominated as California teacher of the year. Emilie was adored by her students and colleges. She inspired so many of them to pursue their own careers as educators. One of her greatest joys was teaching her students to read at a level several grades ahead. She loved painting, traveling and spending time with family. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Marilyn Martin and brother Jim Mann and his wife Shirley. Children; daughter Elizabeth Donathan, son Edward Cathcart and his wife Corinna, son Don Cathcart Jr. and his wife Prissyla. Grandchildren; Don Donathan, Jason Donathan, Andrea Recla and her husband Ben, Jessica Nunally and her husband Garrett, Justin Cathcart and his wife Rebecca, Ariel Cathcart, Heather Rocio and her husband Julio and Sierra Cathcart. Great grandchildren; Emily, Nolan, Aidan, Rory, Bridget, Acelynn, Emiliano Kaylee, Maddox, and Joellen. Emilie was preceded in death by her father and mother Emil and Edith Mann and sister Myrtle Cockrell.

Emilie's Memorial Services will be held in Citrus Heights, CA on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 11:00AM at Reichert’s Funeral Home at 7320 Auburn Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA 95610 AND in Greencastle, IN on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:00AM at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home at 602 E Washington St, Greencastle, IN 46135 followed by a graveside service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
