Joan Louise O'Hara

Joan Louise O'Hara was born October 29, 1932 on the Coss family farm in Wallace County, Kansas to John and Melba Coss. She passed away January 26, 2017 in Folsom, CA with cousin Alice and Bryant Hughes by her side.

Joan is survived by her loving husband Patrick O'Hara sister Janet Warner of Louisiana, Nieces Terry Coss Ahlerandt, Laura Warner Volp, Kathy Warner (Dave) Lanz, nephews Steve Coss, Randy Beightol, Rich Warner, Jeff Warner, brother-in-law Mel (Naoko) O'Hara of Canada, sisters-in-law Teressa Coss, Kathleen (joe) Savage and Carol O'Hara, brother-in-law Aidan (jJoyce) O'Hara of Ireland, and many cousins. Preceding her in death was her father John (Dick) Coss (WWII casualty), mother Melba Carlson, step-father Carl Carlson and brother Jack Coss.

Joan graduated from Boulder, Colorado High School and University of Northern Colorado with a Masters in English. She began teaching in Colorado. She met Patrick and they moved to California. Both Joan and Patrick were teachers and retired from the San Juan Unified School District.

Joan joined the Catholic Church and she and Patrick renewed their wedding vows in the Catholic church. Their dear friends, the Ferries', Catherine (kitty) and Steven and the Tognetti's, Gene and Joann joined them for this holy event. On August 1st they were married 51 years. She was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Citrus Heights. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum. Joan will greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
