Julie was an adventurer in heart. Wanted to travel, even a simple cruise with grandson. Loved being in the mix of things especially if that mix included her family. Her family was everything. Her smile and open love will be remembered but missed.

I have a tendency to stay on the fringes of things. This often allows me to simply watch as life goes on around me, and I always pay attention. From the moment I was introduced, I was welcomed into this family. I wish I'd had a chance to know Julie better, but instead I'd like to tell you what I saw each time our paths crossed.

I saw a woman surrounded by her family. I saw her smile and heard her laugh. She was funny, too, and sharp as a tack. She always looked happy to see me, and always took a moment to ask how I'd been. I saw each of you visit her side for a bit of conversation, or simply to stand for a moment in her light. I saw love in everything you did and said. And I am positive that she did, too.

When I think of family, yours is what I picture. Julie left her legacy in the strength of the bond you all have with each other. What an amazing life one must have lived, to leave such a gift behind. ♡

Looking back I can still see a beautiful woman that showed me so much love and kindness when I needed it.  I will always love you mom Estrada.  Rest now.

Rest In peace and keep you hand softly on liz. Her heart is broken 💔. Hugs

We were always looking to hear mariachi’s

When I think of places that made me feel warm and secure as a child, I immediately think of my grandparents house. The smells of beans intermingled with clean laundry is permanently ingrained into my brain. So are Grandma’s warm hugs and calling me “mija” my whole life. Nobody does that anymore. As I got older, I started noticing things we had in common, such as being happiest out and about with live music and people. Also the love of our culture. One year I bought grandma tickets to see Folklorico at the Crest Theater for her birthday and took her and my dad. If I told her I was taking my kids to Latino Festival in the city, she wanted to come. We also took her to see lots of concerts, but I remember The Temptations the best. I loved seeing my grandmas eyes brighten and water up when taking it all in because mine do the same. I will cherish these memories with you forever, grandma. Thank you for being the best abuelita I could’ve ever asked for. Thank you for helping me as a young mom as much as you did. Thank you for taking care of my dad for so long. And special thank you for making the best tacos and enchiladas ever. Birthdays will never be the same. 

Nana was always in for a party, family dinner or a  road-trip.  She taught us how to work hard, love with all our heart, always be there for our family and to live life to the fullest. You will be missed. Give Papa a huge hug for me.  Until we meet again you will forever live in my heart. 

Grandma Julie was a very special women! I am very greatful to have had her in my life and very greatful that she was involved with my children her great grand babies. One time when Tristan was about 2 years old. She was sleeping next to him. I went into the living room to discover she and Tristan were wide awake. Tristan in the high chair. At 2am! I laughed and asked what they were doing she turned to me with the biggest joyfulest smile and said eating galleta's Spanish for cookies! I couldn't be mad. So much love in this memory!!! Grandma/Nana loved listening to Jace dance and sing since he was little! She would ask him to sing wellerman (sea shanty)  she started tapping her hands on the tray of her walker to give him a beat! Watching them bond has been such a joy in our lives!  When I would help her get her clothes ready for dialysis she would always match her socks to her outfits. She was the cutest fashionable women. She loved dressing up for the up coming holidays! She would come home and tell me how everyone at dialysis her nurses as she would call them. Told her how much they loved her outfits.  This women is the strongest bravest women I have had the pleasure of getting to know and love! I pray I can be half the women she was! This isn't goodbye it's until I see you again! 

I love you aunt Julie.. Robert and the Carrillo family will always cherish and love you! Rest In Peace our love!
