

She was born 2/26/22 in Oroville, Ca to Raymond C Dickenson of the Oroville pioneering family and Emma Ethel Dickenson, originally from London, England. She attended Oroville schools and graduated from Oroville High School in 1939. She went on to Yuba College where she was the first in her family to attend college. She was a flag twirler where she met her husband Joseph J. LaVoy who was on the football team. The couple were married 1/17/42 just as Joe was being drafted into the Army. Laura worked for Pacific Bell for most of her working life, and after retirement joined her husband in their LaCresta Lamp House in Bakersfield. She has been a Roseville resident for the past 12 years, where she enjoyed reading, gardening and watching Dodgers games.
She is survived by her son John and his wife Patricia of Rocklin CA, granddaughters Kimberly Britz of Folsom CA and Brandy LaVoy of Napa CA, great grandsons Zachary and Justin Britz, her sister Dorothy Schwellenback and husband John of Salinas, nieces Jan Dang and Patty Marchello and nephews Jim and Don Schwellenback.
Grave side services will be held at 11:00 in Oroville at the Memorial Park Cemetery on Lincoln Boulevard.
