Louis was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on July 27, 1931 to Frank and Marie Deckelmeier. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and love for animals and his passion for gardening and staying abreast of current events by reading the newspaper every day. He will be dearly missed by his many friends and family.
After graduating from University of Arizona School of Pharmacy at the top of his class, Louis became a resident of California and worked as a pharmacist for over 40 years, retiring at age 62.
Louis is survived by his wife of 42 years, Audrey Deckelmeier; children, Debra Russell and Gordon Deckelmeier (David); 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Karen Chapman (James), 5 stepchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, and numerous step-great grandchildren.
Louis lived in Orangevale, CA for over 57 years. He and Audrey spent many happy years after retirement traveling throughout the U.S. and taking multiple cruises.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 1pm at Reichert's Funeral and Cremation Services, Citrus Heights, CA.
