It is with great sadness that the family of Fred Chi-hung HO announces his passing after a battle of cancer, on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the age of 55. Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Violet. Fred was a caring, loving and talented husband; the second youngest of 10 siblings and beloved uncle of many. Fred was predeceased by his parents and two older sisters.
A native of Hong Kong, Fred moved to San Francisco with Violet in 1991. He worked at the University of California, San Francisco as a Pharmacy Tech for 16 years, and in the First Data Bank as a Pharmaceutical Analyst for 7 years.
Fred was creative and artistic, and had a sense of beauty. With his fashion design background, he designed and made an outfit for his mother-in-law for attending banquets. She got so many compliments, and was confident and proud every time she put it on. He also made folk dance costumes for his wife and was her personal hair dresser for dance performances and venues. He designed posters for folk dance venues and events. He also helped choreograph performance dances. Fred was also a very patient and caring son-in-law, he took his in-laws to dim sum almost every weekend for many years; and whenever they needed help he would be there for them. Fred and Violet enjoyed folk dancing and were perfect partners on stage. They had danced in many international folk dance venues, e.g. City College of San Francisco, Changs, Mandala, Carriage House Folk Dancers, Palomanians, Stockton Folk Dance Camp, and many Folk Dance festivals.
