Billy Dale Geiger, 87 of Loraine went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 10, 2023. He left his home on earth for his home in Heaven with his loving family by his side in the Mitchell County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Colorado City.
He was born in Westbrook, Texas on December 2, 1936 to parents George and Gladys Bassinger Geiger.
Dale was a good Christian man who believed in putting God and family above all else. He was a graduate of Colorado High Class of 1954. In 1958 he married Patsy Ann Martin. They were married for 39 years until she passed away. After her passing he married Leslie Perkins who survives. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City and knew when he was called away from this earth where his eternal home was, even catching a glimpse right before his passing. He was a devout husband, father, and grandfather always wanting to take care of his family right up until the day of his passing. To put it simply he was very loyal to his family and they don’t make many men like him anymore. He was raised on a farm, so he was a farmer at heart even though his career was with TXU. He loved taking care of his cattle and goats and in his younger years raised show pigs.
Dale spent 8 years on the Mitchell County Hospital Board where he got thanks for being a man of integrity and honesty, always standing up for what he believed in, putting the interest of others first, and working hard to keep the hospital running smoothly. This could be said about his character with any job he worked even as a delivery man for Bodine Dairy at a young age. He was a witty man with a dry sense of humor and loyalty like no other. In his spare time he coached little league baseball for many years where earned the respect of many. He enjoyed drinking coffee with the guys at the John Deere House, Dairy Queen, and Stripes, and spending time with his family.
Dale is survived by his wife of over 25 years Leslie Geiger of Loraine, by his children Kevin Geiger and wife Melissa of Mesa Arizona and Cyndi Jones and husband Lucky of Colorado City, by step-children Lauren Munoz and husband Robert of Loraine and Carrie Erwin and husband John of Lubbock, by grandchildren Tyrell Jones and wife Niki, Bryan Geiger and wife Kathy, JR Erwin and wife Alexandra, Caul Erwin, Morgan Munoz, Katie Munoz, Madison Munoz, Ella Munoz, and Matthew Munoz, and by great-grandchildren Dawson Jones, River Jones, Ethan Curry, Joey Dale Geiger, and Luke Erwin. He is also survived by a sister Joyce Geiger Shoemaker of Colorado City, a sister-in-law Sherry Burnett of Lakeland, Florida, and by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Gladys Geiger, his first wife Patsy Martin Geiger, a brother Robert Owen Geiger, and by a grandson Joey Olguin.
The family will be present for a visitation at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home from 10-11:30 am on Saturday, December 16th with a burial to follow at 2pm in the Colorado City Cemetery with Pastor Ken Reamy officiating
