

Carson “Corky” Cyril Clayton, 74, of Colorado City, TX died Wednesday July 8, 2015, at Abilene Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Shield officiating. Burial will follow at the Colorado City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Carson was born on November 4, 1940 in Abilene, TX, to Cyril and Lela Clayton. He grew up and graduated high school in Ira, TX. He married Betty Lou (Snider) on December 21, 1963 in Snyder, TX. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He retired as a correctional officer for TDCJ-Wallace Unit, previously he was the manager of Perry’s for thirty years in Muleshoe, Snyder, and Colorado City. Carson was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Eddie Clayton of Colorado.
He is survived by his wife Betty Lou Clayton, one daughter, Belinda Blassingame of Colorado City, two grandchildren, Bethany Blassingame of San Angelo and Jonathan Blassingame of Colorado City, two sisters Glenda Stagner of Salida, Colorado and Judy Bunker and husband Bob of Moffat, Colorado, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
