She was born in Colorado City on November 8, 1966 to Darvin Leverett Sr. and Mary Dison Leverett Cider.
Darleana was a family woman above all else. She spent her life raising her family and believing in them no matter what life threw their way, as she believed love would conquer all. She was a great mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family, even during the hard times as she was fighting cancer she held her head high and assured them that everything was going to be alright. Darleana was a natural caregiver, as she could always find the good in people, liking them for who they were, always looking for new ways to make them laugh and smile. Darleana was also great at encouraging others as she had a knack for saying the right thing, even if it was at the wrong time.
Darleana also enjoyed taking care of herself as well. In her spare time when she wasn’t with her grandchildren she enjoyed having a good time making homemade beverages, listening to music, and dancing to some of her favorite songs. She also lived by the phrase “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” as she enjoyed finding gently used items that other people may have discarded or donated to a thrift shop. When life got overwhelming she found her peace in her drawing, watching a good movie, or holding one of her many grandbabies. Darleana was a beautiful soul who will truly be missed by all who loved her.
Darleana is survived by her sons Danny Craft of Colorado City and Larry Dale James of Abilene, by daughters Angie Craft of Colorado City and Raney James of Midland, son-in-law Marcos Vasquez Sr., and by grandchildren Taloa, Kayley, Aliana, Mason, Ahmia, Jackie, Cohen, Marcos Jr., Audie, Issac, Kizer, Amari, Jaiden, Julian, and Gracelyn. She is also survived by a brother Darvin Leverett Jr. of Brownwood, and by sisters Cathy Leverett of Coleman, Wilma Carter and husband Michael of Coleman, Donna Leverett Lixey and husband John of Rall, Sherry Garcia and husband Freddy of Colman, and Helen Leveret of Colorado City, as well as by several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Also surviving are her fur babies Rosie and thunder.
She was preceded in death by her father Darvin Leverett Sr., her mother Mary Jacquelene Crider, stepfather Will Crider, and by a granddaughter Santasha Craft.
A celebration of life for Darleana will be held on Saturday, July 1st at 2pm at the Calvary Baptist Church of Colorado City.
