She was born in Louisville Kentucky to Sven and Thelma Gibson Swanson on July 3, 1938.
After living in Snyder for many years Elna and her husband moved to College Station where she spent more then 40 years in the secretarial field working for A&M at the fire academy, before moving to Mitchell County to live her remaining years.
Elna is survived by a son Jason Johnston and wife Sydney of Loraine, a daughter Sue Barkley and husband Cal of Wheelock Texas, and by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
No services are scheduled at this time and arrangements were entrusted to Kiker Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City.
