Elpidio G. "Pete" Martinez

Elpidio “Pete” Martinez, age 80, passed away on February 17, 2013 surrounded by his family. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 2 PM with burial following at the Colorado City Cemetery.

Pete was born on August 2, 1932, in Fort Stockton, TX, to Santiago Martinez and Teresa Godina.

He is survived by, his loving wife of 57 years, Amelia Martinez; four daughters, Irma Rivera and husband Jesse of Colorado City, Yolanda Gonzales of Dallas, Leticia Aley and husband Lyle of Mesquite, Delores and husband Rick Bernal of Dallas; two sons, Willie Martinez of Colorado City, and Emilio Martinez and wife Joy of Dallas; brothers, Nick Martinez of Dallas, and Larry Martinez of Colorado City; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Emilio Martinez, Santiago Martinez, and Manuel Martinez, Sr.; a sister, Lecha Jurado; and his lifelong pet dog Chato.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM with a rosary beginning at 7 PM at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel.
