Francis Wayland Burton

Wayland was born Oct 25, 1936 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Lois and Francis Burton. In 1963 he married Marilyn Lewis of Snyder. Together they raised 3 children, Kelly of Granbury Tx, Guy of Ft. Worth Tx and Kim of New Braunfels Tx. Marilyn preceded him in death.

Wayland graduated from Wchita Falls High School and got his first job at Fox Randel Chevrolet in Wichita Falls. There began his love for cars and mechanics. Wayland worked for Sun Oil Company in Snyder, Texas until his retirement in 1993. He was a thirty second degree Master Mason of the Hermleigh, Tx Lodge.He moved to Colorado City where he later reunited with his high school sweetheart Doris Wall of Wichita Falls. They were married in November 2006.

Wayland loved his family and had a great passion for animals. Survivors include sons Kelly and (Jessica) Burton of Granbury, Guy and (Carol) Kerrick of Ft. Worth, and daughter Kim Price of New Braunfels. Wayland also had three step-sons, Glenn Orms of Denver CO., Clint and (Roxie) Orms of Kerrville, and Victor and (Kelly) Orms of Coppell. He had 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, other family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel in Colorado City on Thursday, November 14th at 1pm.
