

George Manuel Lee, 90, of Loraine, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 in a local nursing home. A funeral service will be held to honor Mr. Lee at 2 PM on Sunday in the chapel at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Hartley to officiating. Burial will follow at Loraine Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Lee was born May 14, 1922 to George Olan Lee and Flossie Marie Compton Lee in Mitchell County. He has been a lifelong resident of Mitchell County and married Martha Estelle Prewitt, on October 10, 1945 in Stroud, OK. He was a soldier in the US Army during WWII, and was active in several different battles. After returning home in 1945, he was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Loraine. Preceding George in death were his parents, his wife, a son, Joe Don Lee, two grandchildren, a brother, James Orville Lee, and a sister, Loyce Lee.
Surviving Mr. Lee are four sons, George M. Lee, Jr. and wife, Faye of Loraine, James R. Lee and Teresa of Colorado City, Jay Lee and wife, Charlotte of Imperial, Texas, and John A. Lee and wife, Ann of Brisco, TX; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alma Smith of Colorado City.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday evening from 6 until 8 at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
