Colorado City – Mrs. Georgia Barnes, age 78, of Colorado City, died Thursday morning in a local hospital. Services will be at 2:30 PM Sunday, December 19, 2010, in the First Assembly of God, with Rev. Mike Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barnes was born September 15, 1932 in Ravia, OK to John and Axie Meadows Martin and had lived in Mitchell County since 1955. She married Billy R. Barnes on July 4, 1951 in Van Alstyne, TX. She was a 1951 Graduate of Howe High School in Howe, Texas. She was a homemaker and was employed by Jerral Manufacturing in Colorado City for several years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Colorado City.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Barnes of Colorado City; 2 sons: Nelson Barnes of Bixby, OK and Lanny Barnes of Colorado City; 2 daughters: Cynthia Barnes of Colorado City and Carol and husband Eddie Taylor of Sherman; 3 grandchildren; Brittiany Coyer, J. R. Taylor and Don Ed Taylor; a brother, John Martin of Ivanhoe, TX; 2 sisters: Wanda Moran of Grand Junction, CO and Juanita Castle of Ivanhoe, TX.
Also several nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded by her parents and a sister Betty Gann.
