Gloria Rangel, age 70, of Loraine, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015, in a local care center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Thursday, October 15, 2015, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Loraine Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rangel was born March 30, 1945 in Pharr, Texas to Ramon and Refugia Flores Serna and had been a resident of Mitchell County since 1973. She married Jonathan Rangel on September 23, 1962 in Indiana. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jonathan Rangel, Sr. of Loraine; a son, Jonathan and wife Rachel Rangel of Colorado City, a granddaughter, Marissa and husband Gary Kuhel; a grandson, Zack Rangel; a great grandson, Adam Kuhel; three sisters: Alicia Serna and Criselda Serna, both of Pharr and Raquel Flores of Mt. Prospect, IL; three brothers: Ramon Serna Jr, Leo Serna and Juan Serna, all of Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Maria Martinez and Manuela Serna; and a brother, Raul Serna.
A rosary will be held at 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
